William after workout number three of his Kickstart

Day three was the most difficult mentally so far.  I was feeling lazy today and did not want to do it.  I had to remind myself that I’m an adult and sometimes we do what we need to do, not what we want to do.  As soon as I completed that last lunge, it felt all worth it.  That’s why I’m writing this down, to remind myself of this feeling when it is complete.  The boost in pride, self-esteem, and trust in myself…it’s worth it.  I bumped my weight up to 30lbs.  My hands were screaming by the second cycle.  I think I’ll stick with 30lbs for a bit.  I still haven’t completed a workout in 25 minutes, oh, but it’s coming.

Hey William – I love the mental switch you made 💪 It’s always worth it when you’re finished! It’s great that you’re thinking about pushing yourself already too – Steve, @miniworkoutdad

Happy to have maintained good form and kept to the beeps and sweated! Loved it. So simple. So easy to do. So happy to have something to do that so easy to access.

36lb. 9 rounds. Moves flowing nicely into each other now. Noticing left hand grip strength is … well rubbish (nails need to be short ladies!). Favoured form over increasing weight as advised. Smashed it.

Today, day five, the mental battle was self-inflicted.  I felt motivated to come home from work today and complete my workout.  I sat down and started doom-scrolling, almost wasting an entire hour!  Anyway, I am still working with 30lbs.  In the first cycle, it felt like those beeps were coming quickly.  I am feeling a…

Yesterday was a warm and muggy one. Didn’t seem to have much strength in me. l Struggled through it.

Wow, starting to really feel the benefit. Tiredness kicks in at about halfway, but managed 8.5 cycles in the 25 mins. We just keep going… You’re doing awesome Michael. It’s tough but it needs to be to shock your body into adapting. Keep going! — Steve
